I thought I would write a quick note about the things I've learned about pregnancy so far:
-Chocolate Shake is NOT good the second time around!
-If I have a question about my symptoms don't ask Mom or Sunny, apparently I'm very weird and I have weird symptoms. Thank goodness for pregnancy blogs that put my mind at ease!!
-As soon as you tell people you're pregnant, you get sick. (I was queasy before but during the last week I have felt yucky)
-When you go out (even just to Wal-mart) make sure you look good. A guy in line behind me said to me "No need to look so sad". Apparently I looked like crap.
-Stay away from Chinese food and scrambled eggs!!
-When taking your prenatal vitamins, make sure your stomach is Full, not just kinda full.
Nate and I are so thrilled that I am pregnant and I would gladly take these "joys" if it meant we could have a child. I really haven't been very sick at all, I was able to hide it from both families through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a wedding. I was surprised we were able to keep it a secret at all. We did tell our parents, so I had a few people I could talk to about it, but I was kinda scared that my Dad would spill all the beans. Occasionally he would say things to me like "You're sick?, good stay that way" (my brother was standing right next to me) or during the holidays he would pay close attention to my eating habits. All in all I have felt great.
I've had a lot of people asking me questions about the pregnancy and I haven't had much time to reply so I'll try to answer all questions now. I'm not sure when my due date is yet. The doctor wanted to wait for the next ultrasound to give an exact date. When I went in for my appointment I thought I was 10 maybe 11 weeks, but the baby was measuring almost exactly at 12 weeks. So if we go off the size of the baby my due date would be July 31st. (Like the hottest day of the year, excellent!) We will know the sex of the baby sometime at the end of February. Nate wants a little girl, (actually he just wants a clone of our niece Kanela) and I want a boy but either way we will be soooooo happy. We have thought of some names but we will not be disclosing them until we know what we're having, we're secretive people I'm finding out. (I've mentioned some of the names before).
Nate is just as happy as can be. He's always trying to hear the heartbeat of the baby by pressing his ear to my tummy. He tells me "hold your breath, stop making noises with your stomach, your heartbeat is too loud" It's pretty funny. And I ask him every day "Do I look pregnant" still the answer is no, but if I'm not careful my gut can be decieving. One night he said to me "oh look you have a little belly", I responded "no, that's not where the baby is, I'm just bloated". He's a little more careful about that now. We are soo thrilled about bringing a child into the world, we've been wanting this for quite a while now, and we feel so blessed to be trusted with such a sacred responsibility. Thanks for all the congratulations and support from all the people we love!
